The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the problem of sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
