Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was interviewed by about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These types of items being offered, typically online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not know the result drugs like this might have on your health."
