    1.2.1.05 Jobseeker payment (JSP) - description

    What is JSP?

    JSP is the working age payment that changed NSA from 20 March 2020.

    JSP is an earnings support payment that provides monetary support to individuals aged 22 years to age pension age who have capability to work now or in the near future and prepared to fulfill mutual obligation requirements.

    JSP will consist of access for people who have actually briefly stopped working or studying to recover from a disease or injury but who have a job or study to return to. When the incapacity ends, and unless excused from shared obligations requirements (3.11.5), a recipient must:

    - take part in or be willing to take part in authorized activities, and/or task search, and
  • be prepared to enter into, comply with or differ an existing Job Plan to fulfil the mutual responsibility requirements (3.11 ).

    How is JSP entitlement figured out?

    JSP is calculated on a day-to-day basis and is paid in defaults, typically in instalments of 14 days. Instalment durations of less than 14 days might be paid where an individual modifications their payday plans.

    Recipients getting JSP MAY likewise get several of the following as part of their JSP rate:

    Background to JSP

    JSP was presented on 20 March 2020. The following payments gradually stopped as part of the creation of JSP:

    - NSA (1.2.1.10) (stopped on 20 March 2020). SA (1.2.5.30) (closed to new receivers on 20 March 2020 and ceased on 20 September 2020). BVA (closed to brand-new recipients on 20 March 2020 and stopped when all existing recipients finished their bereavement duration).
